“Smooth” Benson Henderson has had a rough start to his run in Bellator since leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but the former UFC Lightweight Champion is promising he will be back and better than ever, ready to take down anybody in his path.
Henderson was hoping to make a major splash in his Bellator debut at “Bellator 153” almost one year ago when he challenged Andrey Koreshkov for his welterweight championship. Koreshkov utilized his size to dominate in the fight, getting his hand raised by way of unanimous decision.
Henderson bounced back when he picked up a win over Patricio Freire, but Henderson did not win the fight decisively. Freire was doing more than holding his own before he suffered an injury to his leg in the middle of the fight, forcing the doctor to wave it off ruling “Bendo” the winner.
Just recently, Henderson stepped into the cage to challenge Michael Chandler for his Bellator Lightweight Championship but again, the fight did not end in Henderson’s favor. Judges saw Chandler take the fight by way of split decision, but Henderson promises he’s not done yet:
I'm gonna fuck everybody up when I come back…
