Bisping Sounds Off! “Get Over My Fight With GSP”

The middleweight division has seemingly become unsettled by “The Count” looking to defend his belt from a fighter who has never competed as a middleweight. Now, “The Count” is tired of the backlash.

UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping is set to defend his title from now returning Georges “Rush” St-Pierre. But, “Rush” has never competed as a middleweight. The fighter has not competed at all as a mixed martial artist in over three years. With “Rush” immediately snagging a title fight in the middleweight division, top contenders have become a little disgruntled. Now, Bisping is firing back.

On yesterday’s edition of SiriusXM radio The Countdown, Bisping said:

“You know what the thing is? I had to wait a very, very long time for my title shot. And I didn’t go out there and I didn’t whine. I didn’t (expletive). I didn’t go to Twitter and Instagram and every single (expletive) journalist that I spoke to, ‘woe is me,’ and ‘this is ridiculous,’ and ‘the state of mixed martial arts in the UFC is going to (expletive).’ I never said that. You do you. You carry on fighting. The cream rises to the top and if you’re good enough, you’ll get your (expletive) shot.

“And, if you’re so good ‘Jacare,’ and if you’re so good Yoel Romero, the landscape of MMA is ever-changing and if you’re that good, you’re gonna continue to win fights and you’ll get your shot. So stop whinging, stop complaining. Get over it. I’m fighting GSP, hopefully in the summer, early fall and that’s just that. It’s set in motion. The fight is happening. It’s gonna do big business. Get over it.”

An official date for Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre’s title fight has not yet been announced.
