UFC lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor is the first in Ultimate Fighting Championship history to hold two championship titles at the same time. That being said, the fighter may be looking for a future title challenge with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh recently admitted that he thinks the fight would be an easy one for “Notorious.” In a Q&A session within Australia, Kavanagh agreed that he could see McGregor fighting the welterweight champion.
“I’d fancy him in there with Woodley,” Kavanagh said, “He’s just another wrestler with an overhand right, and that’s the type Conor grew up knocking out. So I wouldn’t see a massive challenge in that.”
While Kavanagh admitted to being able to see Conor McGregor facing Tyron Woodley, the head coach thinks Gunnar Nelson should be striving for the title. “I would like to see Gunni get that belt. Gunnar Nelson will be the next SBG world champion.” He said.
