Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie became the inaugural UFC featherweight champion upon her unanimous decision victory over former bantamweight champion Holly Holm at UFC 208.
After defeating her opponent, attention on the champion began to tear in all directions. “The Iron Lady” admitted that she required surgery. However, many fans and fighters are anxious to see a rematch between the champion and Holly Holm. Beyond that, Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is considered by many to be the most deserving of a title shot against “The Iron Lady.”
Now, it would appear that the future plans of Germaine de Randamie have become a little less clear. Award winning MMA journalist Ariel Helwani recently took to Twitter to share a recent rumor.
“Re: GDR, her immediate future is up in the air. Not likely for 7/29. Maybe 4th quarter 2017. Even been some talk of vacating. All TBD.” Helwani stated.
