Former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra was in the corner of Chris Weidman for last weekend’s UFC 210 co-main event.
Weidman went up against Gegard Mousasi and left the octagon with his third consecutive loss. The fight ended in controversy, as the referee put a stop to the fight after a series of knees to the head of Weidman.
The knees were initially believed to be illegal blows, allowing Weidman a five minute break to collect himself. However, the knees were later determined as legal and Weidman as unable to continue, ending the bout in a dissatisfying loss for the former middleweight champion.
