Rumors have been swirling that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will be making a return to the octagon much sooner than anyone expected. A recent one has claimed that the champion will be making his way to UFC 213. However, it would appear that is now being shot down.
Recently, it was speculated that UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley would face off against Conor McGregor at UFC 213 this July for International Fight Week. However, MMA journalist Sean Sheehan has reported that Ariel Helwani finds this is likely just not true.
“‘That’s absolutely not true.’ – @arielhelwani on McGregor vs. Woodley rumours.” Sheehan said over Twitter.
With Conor McGregor currently taking time off from the UFC for the expected birth of his child and to set up a bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr., it would appear that plans may have not changed for “Notorious” after all.
