Georges St-Pierre is returning to the octagon after over three years away from the sport. For his return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, “Rush” will be challenging Michael “The Count” Bisping for the middleweight title.
With “Rush” having never competed in the middleweight division, and being an “average sized” welterweight in the past, St-Pierre is expected to be the smaller fighter in the incipient match-up. With that in mind, the former welterweight champion believes his smaller size will not be his downfall.
In a recent interview with RT Sports, St-Pierre explained that he believes he has the advantage in the fight. “Of course, Michael Bisping will be bigger than me, but I believe that will be the only advantage that he will have. I believe technically, tactically and athletically I have all the edge on him.” He said.
“It doesn’t matter if he’s taller and bigger than me. The only difference that it is going to make is when he hits the floor, it’s going to make a bigger boom.” Georges St-Pierre said. The match-up has yet to have an official date announced.
