“Red King” has come forward with his two cents on how the UFC has changed over the years. For him, it’s time for the “really brutal stuff.”
UFC welterweight Rory “Red King” MacDonald was recently featured in an interview with London Real.
In the interview, MacDonald explained that he thinks the mainstream outlook of the sport has potentially taken something away from the experience.
“The fact that headbutts are not allowed, that’s a really crappy thing.” MacDonald said, explaining that he thinks many of the illegal strikes in the UFC should be permitted.
“It’s become like a mainstream sport, so it’s gotta be somewhat clean cut, for as brutal as it is.” He mentioned, before revealing that he is a bit of a purist, “I like the really brutal stuff.”
The brutal fancied fighter will likely get his fill soon. MacDonald is set to face Paul Daley at Bellator 179 on May 19.
