It does not matter how many muscles Alistair Overeem has when he walks into the octagon; “The Reem” will always be one of the most dangerous strikers to ever lace up a pair of gloves. Overeem’s highlight-reel is second to none in the heavyweight division, and he is a true threat to anybody in the top five if he fights a smart fight.
Overeem is coming fresh off a knockout win against Mark Hunt at UFC 209; Hunt has one of the toughest chins in the game and having only been knocked out just five times in his career. It’s a true testament to the power “The Reem” still possesses.
It is becoming difficult to ignore the change in the physique of the heavyweight behemoth. When he stepped onto the scales at “UFC 141” to square off with Brock Lesnar, Overeem was a mountain of a man and had muscles for day. Recently, Overeem has stepped onto the scales looking like a normal heavyweight, which raises eyebrows if you compare it to weigh-ins of years prior.
Regardless, it appears that “Ubereem” is working some muscle mass back onto his body. Does the Overeem you see below look like world champion material? Judge for yourself by taking a look at his most recent Instagram post below:
