Submission Underground 4 is set to go off inside Portland, Oregon on May 14. The event is a submission-only grappling competition that will be headlined by mixed martial arts veteran and former UFC competitor Jake Shields and Dillon Danis.
Dillon Danis is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach and teammate to Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor. With no mixed martial arts bouts yet under his belt, Dillon Danis is looking to set up a match with the Bellator MMA promotion.
With the MMA veteran and Dillon Danis set to face off at Submission Underground 4, tension has begun to rise between the two competitors. In a recent appearance on the Submission Radio podcast, Jake Shields told the story of the time he threw coffee at Dillon Danis.
“He’s kind of a little Conor boy.” Shields explained, before noting that there is a little bit of bad blood between him and Danis. However, Shields also mentioned “Overall, I don’t think he’s that bad of a guy.”
