UFC Fighter Questions GSP’s Chances Under USADA

GSP is set to return at UFC 217.

“Gamebred” thinks USADA may be a deciding factor for Georges St-Pierre’s chances in coming title fight.

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has returned to the octagon after over a three year hiatus from the sport. The fighter has leaped into the middleweight division for a title shot return to the sport.

St-Pierre will be facing middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping at an unannounced date. For welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal, USADA may play a role in how the title fight pans out.

The USADA was implemented in the UFC in 2015, making it one of the largest changes to the sport since St-Pierre’s absence.

In an interview with BJ Penn Radio, as transcribed by Bloody Elbow, Masvidal explained that he believes the fight could be quite interesting.

“It could be a really good fight. I think GSP wins it, if it’s the GSP of old. I’m not saying he ever did or didn’t, but a lot of fighters act different after USADA. So we will see if USADA has any effect on GSP or not, because I think the old GSP would easily handle to GSP. He would’ve able to take him down, time him, outbox him even with his jab, get on his legs and take him down.

“Let’s see if USADA has anything to say about GSP.”
