It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship has taken a slight jab at their recently signed featherweight fighter. The slight took place over Twitter, with a few choice words for a former Invicta FC champion.
Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino has joined the UFC roster as a featherweight competitor. The former Invicta FC champion is largely believed to be one of the inspirations for the implementation of the UFC’s featherweight division.
Still, the fighter has not performed inside the octagon since September of last year. “Cyborg” is currently pursuing inaugural UFC featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie. In a recent Twitter post, Justino posted about “The Iron Lady.”
However, the tweet was quickly met with a sharp tongue from the official Spanish UFC account. “Cyborg” posted that she is starting her training on Monday with a smile, as she is looking to face “The Iron Lady” at UFC 214.
UFC responded to a fan, which commented on Cyborg’s post, saying that they should not get their hopes up. Then claiming that Cyborg has already declined two championship fights and her fight with Randamie is not yet scheduled.
Translated: @sergvegal @criscyborg This event is not scheduled yet. By the way cyborg is offered before two bouts of championship in 145lbs and one in 135, rejected all
@sergvegal @criscyborg Este evento no está agendado aún. Por cierto a Cyborg se le ofrecieron antes dos peleas de campeonato en 145lbs y una en 135, rechazó todas
