Former WWE superstar Phil “CM Punk” Brooks is trying his hand at mixed martial arts. That being said, the task has not gone terribly grand so far. The professional wrestler turned mixed martial artist had his first professional bout under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner.
Facing Mickey Gall at UFC 203, the former professional wrestler faced a first round submission loss. Mickey Gall largely dominated the performance, leaving little room for Brooks to have an immanent return to the octagon.
Now, Phil “CM Punk” Brooks is going to compete on a six-week game show under the MTV network. Brooks will be featured in the show The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros. The show will debut May 16 on MTV.
As explained by MTV, “Each episode will focus on a different strength (agility, ingenuity, brawn, brains, endurance and guts). Every week, the winning team’s captain will choose one member of their team to go into the elimination round, and the rest of the team will vote in their opponent. The losing team’s captain is automatically sent into elimination, and their team will also nominate their opponent. The final male and female competitors of the season will endure the ultimate test, showcasing each strength in one heart-pounding race for the chance to win $50,000 for their favorite charity.”
