‘We’re a team, not rivals’- Brother Motivated to Meet Angela Lee’s Success

ONE: Kings of Destiny went down on April 21 in Manila, Philippines inside the Mall of Asia Arena. In the main event, lightweight champion Eduard Folayang defended his title from rising challenger Ev Ting.

In an exciting featherweight bout, Christian Lee locked in a first round TKO victory over Jianping Wan. Lee is now carrying a 6-1 record as a professional mixed martial artist. However, Christian Lee is not the only fighter in the family to compete in the ONE promotion.

Inaugural atomweight champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee is competing in the promotion alongside her brother. While the siblings are competing together, Christian Lee has noted that it is only a motivation for each of them to do better.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Christian Lee explained “We work hard all the time. We are very close and there’s no rivalry between us. We’re a team and we constantly push each other to be the best fighters we can possibly be.”

Later, the fighter explained that he is ready to get back into the cage. “Watching Angela fight and training with her has been great but it has also been hard sometimes not knowing when my turn will come. I love all the training and the work we put in but there is nothing like getting into the cage and fighting. I seriously can’t wait. From here on in I just have to keep my body fresh, and my mind sharp. I am ready to take this next step.”
