In Kazan, Russia, Dastan Sharsheev faced off against Anton Kalinin in a bout that would ultimately go the distance. Dastan Sharsheev was sure that he had won the fight, but was quickly surprised to find that the opposite was true.
As reported by Bloody Elbow, Dastan Sharsheev quickly protested the decision. After being surrounded by security, the officiator for the night exclaimed “Now you will simply be deported and won’t be allowed back into the country.”
Sharsheev is a Kyrgyz migrant in the Russian country, one of nearly two million. Responding to the officiators claims, Sharsheev asked for a microphone. Then, the fighter said “Good evening, dear Tatarstan!
“I am here for the second time, the people here are very kind. I want to say that you saw who actually won. This is a tournament in which everything has to be right, where there should be fair judges. Was it fair today?”
After the audience bellowing a thundering “no” to the fighter’s question, Sharsheev said “So ask yourself the question: where is justice in this world? Where is she? Or is it set to the color of my skin?”
