ESPN boxing analyst Teddy Atlas believes UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will somehow cheat in a boxing match against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
Atlas discussed a potential McGregor vs. Mayweather fight while on SportsCenter. Atlas was asked if there is any chance of McGregor winning.
“Yes, there is,” Atlas said. “He can win it by losing. If he goes out there and he cheats and doesn’t abide by the boxing only rules, and rushed Floyd where he gets him on the ground. Then grounds and pounds him in an area he is actually superior at, and not standing and boxing. Then he would be disqualified, we understand that, but in his world, in his brand, he makes money.
“He would proclaim himself the emperor of the universe. He’s crazy like a fox, and I’m telling you right now, Floyd’s people would be wise to be aware of this possibility because standing and boxing by the rules, McGregor has absolutely no chance.”
