Kevin Ferguson Jr., the son of the late Kimbo Slice, won his first professional MMA fight at Bellator 179 on Friday.
Ferguson fought DJ Griffin in London. He took less than one round to finish his opponent by TKO.
Ferguson resembled his father when it came to his striking techniques. Ferguson landed a hard right hand that dropped his opponent. “Baby Slice” then jumped on top of Griffin after he was dropped. Ferguson landed quick ground-and-pound shots until the referee officially stopped the fight.
This was Ferguson’s second professional MMA fight and his second fight in Bellator. Back in November, Ferguson made his MMA debut. He was submitted in the second round of his fight by a rear-naked choke by the hands of Aaron Hamilton.
After his win in London, Ferguson dedicated the fight to his family, including his late father. Kimbo Slice was scheduled to fight in London at the time of his death last year. Ferguson honored his father by fighting in the country.
