On Friday, Bellator returned to London, England with a night full of intriguing MMA matchups.
In the main event of Bellator 179, former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald made his Bellator debut when he fought Paul Daley.
At the start of the fight, MacDonald landed a couple strikes before taking Daley to the ground. MacDonald went on to land vicious strikes on the ground. Daley fought but he was not able to get off the ground. The round ended with MacDonald in the dominant position.
The second round started just like the first. MacDonald did not take long before taking his opponent to the ground. MacDonald continued to be lethal with his strikes on the ground. Eventually, MacDonald secured Daley’s back and was able to secure a rear-naked choke. Daley could not escape and was forced to submit handing MacDonald his first win in Bellator.
