Former UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson wants to get back in the cage.
On Thursday, Henderson sent out a tweet telling Bellator MMA he would be willing to take a welterweight fight on short notice.
“Guess who can make 170lbs on short notice?!?!?!” Henderson tweeted at Bellator.
Henderson released the tweet shortly after it was announced Michael “Venom” Page had suffered an injury and would not be competing at Bellator 179 on May 19.
Page was scheduled to fight Derek Anderson in the co-main event in London.
Henderson has struggled in the beginning of his tenure in Bellator. Since leaving the UFC to join Bellator, Henderson has gone 1-2. He lost title fights to former welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov and current Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler.
Henderson’s only win in Bellator was a TKO win over current Bellator Featherweight Champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire. The TKO was due to Freire suffering a leg injury.
Hey @BellatorMMA guess who can make 170lbs on short notice?!?!?!
