UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping is happy with Georges St-Pierre postponing his return to the UFC.
St-Pierre recently said he would not be ready to fight until after October. Even though Bisping wanted to fight earlier in the year, he is not upset with their potential title fight getting pushed back.
“He says he can’t fight until after October. Which, initially, is kind of distressing, but the reality is my knee isn’t healing really well,” Bisping said on a recent episode of his podcast.
“So that’s actually a blessing in disguise for me, because if the fight was going to be in July, I probably couldn’t have done it.”
Bisping recently got knee surgery and was expecting to be able to fight in the spring or summer, but that no longer seems to be the case. Despite his fight with St-Pierre getting pushed back, Bisping still wants to fight the former champion and wants to do it in the fall.
