Former UFC title challenger Cat Zingano says she plans to be a two-division champion in the UFC.
On Tuesday, Zingano said her plan is to win the UFC women’s featherweight title and then go down to bantamweight and win that championship.
Zingano has been campaigning for a fight featherweight against Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. With UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie refusing to fight Justino, and saying she wants to go back to bantamweight, Zingano could find herself in a title fight with Justino.
Zingano is also the last women to defeat UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes. In Sept. 2014, Zingano defeated Nunes by TKO.
Despite being on a two-fight losing streak, Zingano is still one of the top contenders in the UFC women’s bantamweight division. She has wins over top contender Raquel Pennington and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate.
Zingano has not fought since last July. She is coming off a decision loss to Julianna Pena. In her previous fight, she lost a title bout against Ronda Rousey.
