Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino doesn’t seem to mind that UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie doesn’t want to fight her.
On Friday, Brian Butler, De Randmie’s manager, revealed that the champion is refusing to defend her title against “Cyborg” because of her history with performance enhancing drugs.
“Germaine and her team have talked, and the position is that she will not fight Cyborg because Cyborg is a known and proven cheater,” Butler told MMA Fighting. “Even after so much scrutiny has been put on Cyborg, she still managed to pop for something and will always be a person of suspicion who is trying to beat the system rather than just conforming to the rules.
“For that reason, Germaine and her team don’t believe that Cyborg should be allowed to compete in the UFC at all. If that is the only fight the UFC wants, then Germaine is willing to wait and see if the UFC will strip her belt before making her next move.”
Justino later went to Twitter to share her opinion on the situation. “Cyborg” said she is the world champion, while De Randamie is just the UFC champion. Justino said De Randamie refusing to fight her is the UFC’s problem and not her’s.
Justino is widely regarded as the best female fighter in the featherweight division. She is a former Strikeforce and Invicta champion. She has also been unbeaten for over a decade.
In regards to Justino’s history with PEDs. In 2011, Justino failed a drug test and was suspended by the state of California for a year. That is the only time “Cyborg” officially failed a drug test.
Who's @IronLadyMMA? She was #10 at BW and only did 200k PPV barely beating the 0-3 Holly Holm. @MeganA_mma is twice as popular. https://t.co/fPrG9IiYWc

I'm world champ. @IronLadyMMA is @ufc champ. That sounds like @danawhite @seanshelby problem. Not mine. #ufc214 #letsgochamp
