Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Georges “Rush” St-Pierre is looking to make his return to the mixed martial arts promotion. The former champion initially had a bout set for his return, however things have since changed.
Initially, Georges St-Pierre was set to make his return to the octagon in a title fight match with UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping. However, St-Pierre revealed that he will not be available to face off with “The Count” until later this year.
Now, the fight is off and Georges St-Pierre is without an fight for his mixed martial arts return. UFC President Dana White recently took part in an interview with ESPN, in which the president shed some light on what is next for the former champion.
In the interview, Dana White explained that the former champion is now looking to face the reigning champion of the welterweight division. White said, “[St-Pierre] says he will fight whoever the 170-pound champion is when he comes back.”
