Last year, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight competitor Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone was set to face former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 205. However, the former champion was later taken from the card.
In response to learning that the bout had been cancelled, “Cowboy” Cerrone and UFC President Dana White had a brief conversation over text messaging. Simply put, Donald Cerrone wanted a fight and he wanted it quick.
Shortly after learning that his fight for UFC 205 was pulled, Cerrone realized that a fighter was pulled from that night’s UFC 203 event. CB Dolloway was set to face off against Francimar Barroso. However, Dolloway was removed from the card due to an unexpected injury.
In response, Donald Cerrone hit up the UFC president and asked if he could face off against Francimar Barroso on only eight hours notice. Dana White published the the conversation to Instagram for all to see. “Who is better, crazier or more BAD ASS then @cowboycerrone ?????! #asrealasitgets” White said.
