The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making the final preparations for its next big event. UFC 211 is set to go down tomorrow night inside the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
One of the most intriguing fights taking place at UFC 211 is a pivotal welterweight fight between Demain Maia and Jorge Masvidal. The winner is likely to get the next shot at UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.
On Friday, the weigh-ins took place for UFC 211. Both Maia and Masvidal made weight, but Maia appears to have a large size advantage.
Before moving to the welterweight division, Maia was a successful middleweight. He even once fought for the 185-pound title against then-champion Anderson Silva.
Masvidal also found success in another weight class, but he fought in the lightweight division.
It will be interesting to see what type of factor, if any, Maia’s size will play in Saturday’s fight.
