Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez is gearing up for his next octagon performance. This time, the fighter will be throwing down at UFC 211. However, the former champion already has plans past that.
UFC 211 goes down May 13 inside the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas. For the event, Eddie Alvarez will be facing Dustin Poirier. This will be Alvarez’s first bout since his title defense loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 205.
But, in a recent interview with MMA Fighting, the former UFC lightweight champion revealed that he already has plans past UFC 211. Eddie Alvarez wants to knock out Dustin Poirier and then take on Nate Diaz.
“The UFC’s pretty crazy. There’s a couple other guys in front of me but it really depends on how you fight and what kind of show you put on. But I don’t care. I want to knock out Dustin and then I want to get Nate Diaz off his bicycle and get him back in the cage in some way, shape, or form.” Alvarez told MMA Fighting.
