Floyd Mayweather Compliments Conor McGregor’s Hands And Power

UFC lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor is looking for the payday of his career in a cross-promotional matchup with boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now, it would appear that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a few words on the UFC champion’s stand up game.

In a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid on Eminem’s SiriusXM channel Shade 45, as transcribed by MMA Mania, Floyd Mayweather Jr. gave the fighter props for his striking.

“This is a boxing match, he’s a hell of a stand up fighter, I can’t take that away from him,” Mayweather stated, before explaining McGregor’s losses.

“Only time McGregor has been defeated was when he was on the ground. When he was standing up, he always was victorious,” Floyd continued.

“He’s a power puncher, he’s a tough competitor, I’m a tough competitor, and we have to go out there and give the world and the fans what they want to see: excitement.” Mayweather finished.
