Interim UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway is tired of living in the shadow of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
Holloway is on a 10-fight win streak in the UFC. However, his last loss was a decision to McGregor back in 2013.
Also, many fans still refer to McGregor as the featherweight champion due to him never losing the UFC featherweight title. McGregor was stripped of the title after he refused to defend it.
“Conor was the 2015 champions. We’re in the year 2017. It’s about defending (your title). Conor just isn’t that guy,” Holloway told TMZ. “That’s why his fans love him because he’s always looking the the bigger, better picture. Always looking over the fence. That’s just what it is.”
Holloway is scheduled to fight UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo in the main event of UFC 212 on June 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
