Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight competitor Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez has not performed inside the octagon since his unanimous decision loss to Edson Barboza last year. Now, it would appear that the fighter may be preparing for something new.
Following his most recent loss at UFC on FOX 20, Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez revealed that he is considering a change to the featherweight division of the mixed martial arts promotion. Now, a new image of the fighter has surfaced to social media.
Fellow mixed martial artist and Team Skrap Pack member Nate Diaz recently took to Instagram to share an image with Gilbert Melendez. In the photo, Melendez can be seen looking a bit smaller than his usual form.
The mixed martial artist has not made any official announcements concerning his launch into a new weight division. However, it would appear that Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez is now geared up and ready for the featherweight division.
