Undefeated ONE atomweight Istela Nunes is preparing for her first title shot with the promotion. The rising challenger will be taking on atomweight champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee at ONE: Dynasty of Heroes on May 26 inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Istela Nunes was recently interviewed by the ONE promotion about the incipient matchup. For Nunes, it is largely about becoming a Brazilian champion.
In the interview with ONE, Nunes explained:
“I will be the first Brazilian woman to have a belt in ONE Championship,” she states. “That is really good for Brazil, really good for me and [really good for anyone] who is with me — my trainers, my family, [and] everyone. I think it is very important.”
In the end, the fighter is looking to inspire others.
“I just want people who think they will not be able to fulfil their dreams to see that you can never give up, and always believe that you can fulfil them. It is only up to you whether you want to or not.”
