UFC President Dana White recently revealed that things have been squared away with Conor McGregor for the long awaited cross-promotional bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. However, things must still be lined up with Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s team.
In a recent interview with NewsTalk, McGregor striking coach Owen Roddy revealed that he believes things are better for the McGregor team the longer Mayweather takes to agree to a deal. “The longer he takes to sign, the better it is for us. To be honest, we’re ready to go now.” Roddy stated.
Roddy then explained that they have been preparing for this bout for nearly a year. “We’ve almost been preparing since Conor’s last UFC fight. As soon as the talk picked up we started getting ready for it. We all realized that there was too much money to be made on both sides for it not to happen.
“Both Conor and Mayweather made it clear that they wanted the fight, so it was bound to happen.” Roddy explained.
