Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi is currently riding a five fight win streak. Most recently, the fighter scored a contentious TKO victory over former champion Chris Weidman.
The fallout from the controversial stoppage made many speculate if Mousasi truly won the bout. However, Mousasi has made his view on the matter clear. Now, Gegard Mousasi has decided to voice his opinion on another former champion.
In an interview with TODAY, Gegard Mousasi explained that he believes former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is not the greatest of all time. “I think she has a lot of money (Rousey boasts an estimated net worth of US$12 million (S$16.7m)) — she doesn’t need to fight.” He said.
“She’s a good fighter, she has the mentality of a fighter, but she doesn’t have the skills of a stand-up fighter. How can the media make her one of the best fighters when she can’t even kick or punch? That’s like (tennis star) Serena Williams (playing) without a backhand. How do they make her the greatest fighter of all time?” Mousasi finished.
