UFC star “Super” Sage Northcutt recently shared a photo of his abnormally large tonsils.
Northcutt recently had to receive surgery to have his tonsils removed. After the procedure, the doctor put the tonsils in a container and let Northcutt take a picture.
Northcutt talked about his surgery on a recent episode of The MMA Hour.
After training with UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley in preparation for his title fight back in March, Northcutt kept getting sick which resulted in doctors deciding to remove his tonsils.
Northcutt’s return to the UFC has been delayed due to the procedure, but now Northcutt is training for his next fight.
At UFC 214, on July 29, Northcutt is scheduled to return to the lightweight division and fight Claudio Puelles at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Northcutt is coming off a submission loss to Mickey Gall back in December. All of Northcutt’s UFC losses have taken place in the welterweight division. As a lightweight, Northcutt is unbeaten with three wins in the UFC.
