Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight competitor Al Iaquinta has been having a bit of a heated debate with the mixed martial arts promotion as of late. Now, Iaquinta has something new to add to the discussion.
Al Iaquinta was irked when he did not receive a bonus for his victorious performance at UFC Fight Night 108. After the bout, the fighter took to social media to give the UFC a piece of his mind. In response, an undisclosed UFC official returned the favor.
In an anonymous interview, a UFC official explained that the fighter is under a three fight bonus penalty. For his next three bouts, beginning with UFC Fight Night 108, Iaquinta is not eligible for fight bonuses.
Following the anonymous outcry, Al Iaquinta has now responded over Twitter. “I must have hit nerve! A highly placed official from a 4 billion dollar company speaking ANONYMOUSLY.. sad! #Fakenews.”
