Rory MacDonald wants to fight every big name he can in Bellator.
Last Friday, MacDonald made his Bellator debut in London. At Bellator 179, MacDonald submitted Paul Daley.
MacDonald plans to fight for both the Bellator welterweight and middleweight titles, but he also wants to fight legends of the sport. In a recent interview, MacDonald said he wants to fight Fedor Emelianenko and Wanderlei Silva.
“I want to be a champion, a two-division champion if I can,” MacDonald said. “Outside of that, I want the big fights. If I can fight the legendary fighters that are around and in Bellator then sign me up. I think they will be fan friendly fights. A young up and coming champions fighting legends. I think that sells. Fedor, Wanderlei, those are big guys and I think fans would want to see that.”
MacDonad plans to fight the winner of the next welterweight title fight in Bellator. At Bellator: NYC, on June 24, Bellator Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima will defend his title against Lorenz Larkin.
After his next fight, MacDonald plans to move up in weight and fight larger opponents.
