Silva Releases Statement In Reply To White’s Recent Comments, Clarifies Prior Remarks
Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva has been having a little confrontation with the mixed martial arts promotion as of late. However, Anderson Silva has decided to clarify one of his earlier statements.
The former UFC champion recently pulled himself out of UFC 212 after giving the promotion an ultimatum. The fighter wanted an interim title fight or he would retire. Following his pullout of UFC 212, the fighter responded to a fan’s question on social media. Silva suggested that the fan get a refund for his UFC 212 ticket.
Now, Anderson Silva has decided to clarify his previous statement. Over Instagram, the fighter stated “Guys, I want to be clear, I first answered a question from some of my fans about the return of the tickets, because they claimed that they would only watch the fight because I would fight. And with all the respect I have to my fans, I explained that they have the right to ask for the money back.
“So let it be clear to Dana and everyone that there is no personal question or fight with the UFC. The ‘right is right’ and ‘fair is fair’, there is no ‘dirty’ play. Who goes to watch the other fighters, will not ask for your ticket back. I respect everyone who will fight in the event, but also respect the questioning of my fans.”
