On Sunday, at a UFC Fight Night event, Volkan Oezdemir picked up another major win when he knocked out Misha Cirkunov.
Oezdemir fought Cirkunov in the co-main event in Stockholm, Sweden. The fight began with Cirkunov swarming on Oezdemir trying to catch the light heavyweight contender off guard. However, Oezdemir kept his composure and managed to knock out Cirkunov in the opening seconds of the fight.
Oezdemir has had an amazing start to his UFC career. In his first, and only other, UFC fight, Oezdemir picked up a decision win over former interim title challenger Ovince Saint Preux back in February.
Oezdemir is currently on a four-fight win streak. Going into his fight against Cirkunov, he was ranked No. 5 in the official UFC light heavyweight rankings. With another major win, Oezdemir may hold a record for how quickly he has climbed to the top of the 205-pound rankings in the UFC.
