On Saturday, at UFC 211, welterweight contender Demian Maia secured his title shot when he defeated Jorge Masvidal.
Maia and Masvidal fought in a back-and-forth battle that saw Maia walk away with a split decision victory.
Masvidal managed to pick Maia apart with his lethal striking and managed to produce a lot of damage. However, Maia dominance when it came to grappling was enough for two of the judges to reward him the fight.
After the fight, UFC President Dana White confirmed Maia would get a shot at UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley’s title.
The fine people of Twitter were not hesitant to share their thoughts of the razor close fight between Maia and Masvidal.
