The UFC has announced they will be returning to Mexico City, Mexico for a UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 5.
This will be the promotion’s fourth event in the country. The UFC has yet to announce any fights that will be taking place.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing another live event to Mexico City and the (Mexico City Arena),” UFC Senior Vice President of International and Content Joe Carr said in a press release. “Fans in this country have proven to be some of our most knowledgeable and passionate in the world. We are firmly committed to the Mexican market and our talent development efforts here, which have resulted in rising stars like Yair Rodriguez and Brandon Moreno. UFC will continue to be the MMA leader in Latin America and home to the region’s top talent.”
The UFC last visited Mexico back in November. On that night, Tony Ferguson won a decision against former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos.
