UFC Results: Hadzovic Scores a KO Comeback

The UFC returned to Stockholm, Sweden for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.

In the main event, Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson fights fellow former title challenger Glover Teixeira.

Before the pivotal light heavyweight fight, the UFC once again stacked the card with numerous intriguing matchups.

The event opened with a lightweight fight between submission specialist Marcin Held and Damir Hadzovic.

Held started the fight as the aggressor with his striking. However, Hadzovic did not back down and returned fire. After striking for a couple minutes, Held got the fight to the ground. Hadzovic tried to fight from the bottom, but Held smothered him with strikes. In the final minute, Held went for a leg lock, but Hadzovic escaped. Held kept his opponent on the ground and managed to take his back. The round ended with Hadzovic successfully defending against a rear-naked choke.

Held started the round with a spinning round kick to Hadzovic’s head. Held then shot for a takedown and got his opponent on the ground. Hadzovic once again found himself in a rear-naked choke position, but he got to his feet and reversed the position. He wasn’t able to stay on his feet long before getting taken down again by Held. After fighting on the ground, Held secured a head-and-arm choke, but Hadzovic once again escaped the submission attempt. Held then gained full mount and moved to his opponents back. The round ended the exact same way as the first with Hadzovic fighting the rear-naked choke.

At the start of the final round, Hadzovic landed a vicous knee to Held’s head that ended the fight.
