The UFC returned to Stockholm, Sweden for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.
In the main event, Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson fights fellow former title challenger Glover Teixeira.
Before the pivotal light heavyweight fight, the UFC once again stacked the card with numerous intriguing matchups.
In the final preliminary fight, No. 12 ranked bantamweight Pedro Munhoz fought Damian Stasiak.
The fight started with Munhoz landing leg and body kicks. Munhoz continued to use his kicks to keep Stasiak at bay. Stasiak went for a takedown, but Munhoz went for a guillotine choke. Stasiak escaped and got back to his feet. Munhoz continued to land clean shots on the feet. The round ended with both fighters throwing shots.
Stasiak was more aggressive to start the middle round. Both fighters began to land clean shots. Munhoz relied on his jab and kicks, while Stasiak threw punching combinations. Stasiak shot for a takedown, but Munhoz took his back. Stasiak managed to get back to his feet and escaped Munhoz’s grip. Both fighters landed hard combinations for the remainder of the round. Both fighters went for takedowns but neither were able to get the fight to the ground.
Munhoz went for a takedown to start the final round, but Stasiak fought it off. Munhoz increased his volume of punches. Eventually, Munhoz gets Stasiak to the ground. After neither produced much action, the referee stood both fighters up. Both fighters exchanged blows on the feet. Stasiak went for a takedown, but Munhoz took his back. Stasiak managed to get to his feet, but he got taken right back to the ground. The fight ended with Stasiak getting back to his feet, and both fighters trading blows.
