On Monday, two of the MLB’s top players came to blows during a game.
Bryce Harper, of the Washington Nationals, stormed the mound and began throwing fists at pitcher Hunter Strickland, of the San Fransisco Giants.
At the top of the eighth inning, Strickland hit Harper with a pitch. After being hit, Harper immediately threw his helmet and ran towards Strickland.
Once the two baseball players were trading strikes, both ball pens emptied onto the field in an attempt to separate the players.
Strickland’s pitch looked to have possibly been intentional. He hit Harper with a fastball directly into his back.
Strickland was the first to land a punch on Harper after Harper began running towards the mound.
Even though Strickland hit Harper with a 100 mile per hour fastball, and landed the first punch, Harper was ejected from the game.
The incident can be seen in the video below.
