UFC welterweight “Platinum” Mike Perry is one of the top prospects in the sport.
However, before joining the UFC, Perry had an unsuccessful run as a professional boxer.
In 2015, Perry made his boxing debut against Kenneth McNeil. Perry is known for being one of the most aggressive fighters in the UFC, and his aggressiveness was on display in his boxing match, but it wasn’t enough to get him the win.
In the fourth round of his boxing debut, Perry got knocked out by McNeil.
Going into the fight, McNeil was the more experienced fighter. While Perry was making his debut, McNeil already had six wins in the sport.
Today, McNeil holds a professional boxing record of 10-3, with seven of his wins coming by knockout.
Perry is coming off the biggest win in his career. In April, he knocked out longtime welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger. Perry currently has a record of 10-1, with all of his wins coming by knockout.
