WME-IMG, the company that owns the UFC and also works as a talent agency, may have found a new face for women’s MMA, and it’s not a fighter.
Blake Lively, who is represented by WME, will star in a new film about the world of women’s MMA. Lively is the star of the teen drama series “Gossip Girl”.
The movie is titled “Bruised” and will begin filming in September.
The film will be directed by Nick Cassavetes, who has worked on such movies a “The Notebook” and “My Sister’s Keeper”.
According to Deadline, this is the plot to the movie:
Lively will play Jackie, a single mother working two jobs and a disgraced MMA fighter who has been up against the ropes her entire life. When the authorities threaten to take her young son away from her, she must get back in the cage for one last chance to fight for redemption and give her son the life she always wanted.
