Agilan Thani, ‘It was nobody’s fault but mine’

ONE Championship’s Agilan Thani recently suffered his first loss in his MMA career.

At ONE Championship: Dynasty of Heroes, Thani was submitted by ONE Welterweight Champion Ben Askren.

“I worked so hard for the fight but I have no one to blame and I have nothing to blame, it is all my fault,” Thani said during a recent interview.

“I will make sure (to get) a couple more wins and get back to the cage as soon as possible.”

Thani was overwhelmed by the ONE, and former Bellator, champion. It took Askren just over two minutes to submit the young prospect.

Before his title fight, Thani was undefeated with seven wins. Thani has never fought to a decision. Four of his wins have come by submission, while the other three came by TKO.

By defeating Thani, Askren remained undefeated. He is now unbeaten with 16 wins, with over half of his victories coming in title fights.
