UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping still believes his next fight will be against former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.
On a recent episode of UFC Tonight, Bisping discussed who his next opponent will be in the UFC.
“Sounds like me and Georges are still going to get it on,” Bisping said.
The UFC announced Bisping would defend his title against St-Pierre earlier this year. The UFC canceled the fight due to St-Pierre not being able to fight until November.
However, Bisping is still dealing with a lingering knee injury and will not be able to fight until the end of the year as well.
With Bisping being injured, the UFC will be creating an interim middleweight title. Top contenders Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker will fight for the championship at UFC 213 on July 8.
Even though there will be an interim title holder, Bisping still expects his next title defense to be against St-Pierre.
