Tim Hague, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitor and MMA veteran, suffered a debilitating brain injury on Friday night. Now, the fighter has passed away.
Tim Hague faced off against Adam Braidwood on Friday night in a boxing match. The fighter suffered a knockout loss that caused severe brain injuries. While Hague was rushed to an intensive care unit, the mixed martial arts veteran has now passed away.
Edmonton Combative Sports Commission Pat Reid provided a statement on Tim Hague, just prior to the fighter’s passing.
The Edmonton Journal reported Reid as having stated,
“Following the news that boxer Tim Hague is in critical condition following a professional boxing match on Friday, June 16, 2017, we have extended the request for reports to all referees, ringside judges, physicians, chief inspector, paymaster and the presiding inspectors assigned to the bout. We will determine the next steps following the evaluation of these reports.”
