It sure is great to have Chael Sonnen back in the world of MMA.
Earlier this year, Sonnen returned to the sport after over three years away.
During that time period, Sonnen left the UFC and has joined Bellator MMA. Sonnen is scheduled to compete for the second time for the promotion this Saturday.
On June 24, at Bellator: NYC, Sonnen will headline the event as he fights longtime rival Wanderlei Silva.
On Thursday, Bellator held a press conference for the pay-per-view event. When the fighters were given the opportunity to go face-to-face, Silva shoved Sonnen forcing security to intervene and separate the two fighters.
“I fall for it every time, and I let that guy get in arms reach,” Sonnen said. “Every single time I let him do it, and every single time he touches me.”
After the press conference, Sonnen took the time to speak to the media individually.
Sonnen did an entertaining pre-fight interview with Ariel Helwani, of MMA Fighting. The entire interview can be seen in the video below. During the interview, Sonnen talks about his disdain for New York City, his rivalry with Silva, and his legacy in the sport.
