Chael Sonnen recently mocked Wanderlei Silva’s iconic fighting pose.
In the video below, Sonnen can be seen with his hands together rotating his wrists.
This famous pose is used by Silva prior to his fights. Silva intimidating stare while moving his hands around has helped make Silva one of the most recognizable MMA fighters in history.
Sonnen will fight Silva in the main event of Bellator: NYC on Saturday. The event will air live on pay-per-view.
Silva has not fought since his knockout win over Brian Stann in the UFC back in 2013. Sonnen is coming off a submission loss to Tito Ortiz back in January. Prior to that loss, he hadn’t fought since 2013.
Sonnen and Silva have been rivals for the past few years but have never fought. Their rivalry dates back to Sonnen’s arrogance towards the country of Brazil back when he fought former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. The two rivals even coached opposite of each other on a Brazilian season of The Ultimate Fighter.
