One of the most recognizable voices in all of combat sports, Mauro Ranallo, will have the honor of calling the biggest fight in combat sports history as Floyd “Money” Mayweather fights UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match.
On Wednesday, all the parties involved confirmed that Mayweather will fight McGregor on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight will take place at 154 pounds.
Mayweather confirmed on his social media platforms that the fight will air live on Showtime pay-per-view. Which means, Ranallo will be doing play-by-play for the fight.
Ranallo has experience doing commentary for boxing, MMA, and professional wrestling at the highest level.
For the past few years, Ranallo has covered the sport of boxing for Showtime. He recently left the WWE after spending over a year with the wrestling promotion. In the world of MMA, Ranallo did commentary for promotions such as PRIDE, Strikeforce, and Invicta.
